Kalimirch Chicken
Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken cut into pieces
- 1 large onion diced into pieces
- Coriander leaves for garnishing
- Lime juice of 2 lemons
- 3 tbsp of garlic ginger paste
- Oil
- 1 ½ - 2 tbsp of freshly ground black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp garam masala
Method
- Pour two table spoons of oil in a pan and let it heat.
- Add the garlic ginger paste and onions. Let the onions cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Now add the chicken pieces and let it cook for a while.
- Add the salt and pepper (Tip: To increase the spice, one can add more black pepper).
- Shut the vessel and let it cook for 15- 20 minutes till the chicken has become tender.
- Add a little water on the lid so that the chicken cooks fast and does not burn.
- After it cooks for 20 -25 minutes, remove the lid and add lime juice.
- Check if the chicken is done and then add the garam masala.
- Add the coriander leaves and the remaining black pepper.
