Ingredients :
1/2 cup readymade dosa batter
butter for cooking
*For The Falafel
60 gms soaked kabuli chana (white chick peas)
1/2 medium onion (chopped)
4 to 5 black peppercorns (kalimirch)
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
few coriander (dhania) leaves
1/2 tsp red chiili powder
salt to taste
3 to 4 tbsp bread crumbs
oil for deep frying
For The Coconut Hummus
30 gms soaked kabuli chana (white chick peas)
2 tbsp sesame seeds (til)
4 tbsp grated coconut
2 tbsp lemon juice
4 to 5 garlic (lehsun) cloves
2 to 3 black peppercorns (kalimirch)
salt to taste
1 tbsp oil
Method :
For the falafelCombine all the ingredients, except the bread crumbs and blend in a mixer.In a deep bowl combine the chana mixture and bread crumbs. Mix well.Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into bullet or round shaped falafel.Deep-fry the falafel till golden brown.
For the coconut hummus
For the coconut hummusBlend all the ingredients in a mixer to a smooth mixture.
How to proceed
How to proceedPour 1/2 of the batter on the tava (griddle) and spread in a circular motion to make a thin dosa.Smear a little butter over it and along the edges and cook on a high flame till the dosa turns brown in colour and crisp.Spread a few falafels and fold over to make a semi-circle or a flat roll.Serve falafel dosa with coconut hummus.
