Ingredients
For The Appe
- 3/4 cup semolina (rava)
- 1/2 cup beaten rice (poha)
- 1/2 cup curds (dahi)
- 2 tsp roasted cumin seeds (jeera)
- 2 tsp roasted urad dal (split black lentils)
- 1 tsp roasted mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
- 1 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
- 3/4 cup green peas , crushed
- 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
- 1 tbsp chopped green garlic (hara lehsun)
- 1 tbsp fruit salt
- salt to taste
- 2 tbsp grated coconut
- 1 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
For the appe
- Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well to make a smooth thick batter of dropping consistency.
- Just before making. add the fruit salt and mix gently.
- Drop the batter into appe mould and keep it in the hot steamer for about 15 minutes till cooked.
- Cool and unmould.
- Garnish with coconut and coriander.
- Serve immediately.
