Ingredients :
a pinch saffron (kesar) strands dissolved in 2 tsp of milk
4 apple , chopped
4 glasses of milk or soya milk
20 de-seeded dates (khajur)
15 raisins (kismis) (cleaned and soaked in hot water for 5 minutes)
4 tsp honey
2 cups curds (dahi)
few ice cubes
4 scoops of vanilla ice-cream
4 tsp sugar
15 cashewnuts (kaju)
15 almonds (badam) (soaked and peeled)
For Garnishing
1 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
2 tsp ginger (adrak) julienne
Method :
Warm the saffron in a small vessel, add 2 tsp of milk and rub until the saffron dissolves. Keep aside.Combine the apples and milk or soya milk and blend it in a mixer for 1-2 minutes.Add the dates, raisins, curds, honey, saffron mixture, sugar, cashews, almonds, ice-cream of your choice, ice cubes and blend again till smooth and slushy.Pour into 4 individual glasses.Garnish each glass with ginger juliens and cardamom powder.
Serve chilled immediately.
