Grilled Sesame Delight

Ingredients
  • Brown bread slices 4
  • Sesame seeds (til) 6 teaspoons
  • Butter 2 teaspoons
  • Oil 2 tablespoons
  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
  • Green chillies,chopped 2
  • Potatoes,boiled, peeled and mashed 3 medium
  • Green peas,boiled and crushed 1/4 cup
  • Lemon juice 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh coriander leaves,chopped 2 tablespoons
  • Chaat masala 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sugar 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt to Taste
Method
  1. Preheat an oven to 180°C.Dry roast sesame seeds in a non-stick pan till fragrant. 
  2. Remove from heat and set aside. 
  3. Trim the edges of the bread slices, apply butter on both the sides and grill them in the preheated oven till golden.
  4. Heat oil in another non-stick pan, add cumin seeds. 
  5. When they begin to change colour, add green chillies, potatoes, green peas, lemon juice, coriander leaves, chaat masala, sugar and salt. 
  6. Mix well and set aside.
  7. Divide the potato mixture into four equal portions. 
  8. Spread them on the toasted bread. 
  9. Sprinkle the roasted sesame seeds on top. 
  10. Grill the bread slices in the oven for another two to three minutes. 
  11. Remove, cut into pieces
  12. Serve with tomato ketchup.
