Chai Spiced Hot Chocolate

Ingredients
  • Milk 4 cups
  • Fennel seeds (saunf) 1 teaspoon
  • Green cardamom seeds 1 teaspoon
  • Cloves 5 - 6
  • Black peppercorns 6 - 7
  • Cinnamon 1 inch
  • Nutmeg powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ginger 1 inch
  • Chocolate Powder 3/4 cup + for sprinkling
  • vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
  • Honey 2 tablespoons
Method
  1. Combine fennel seeds, cardamom seeds, cloves, peppercorns, cinnamon, nutmeg powder and ginger in a mortar. Crush with a pestle into a coarse mixture.
  2. Heat milk in a deep non-stick pan. Add crushed spice mixture and vanilla extract. 
  3. Stir to mix and bring to a boil.
  4. Add chocolate powder and stir to mix. 
  5. Add honey and stir again.
  6. Strain the drink into 4 individual cups. 
  7. Sprinkle little chocolate powder on top and serve hot
