Ingredients :
For Paneer Do Pyaza
1 cup paneer (cottage cheese) cubes
1/2 cup finely chopped onions
1 cup boiled onion cubes
1 1/2 tbsp oil
1 cardamom (elaichi)
1 small stick cinnamon (dalchini)
2 cloves (laung / lavang)
1 bayleaf (tejpatta)
2 whole dry kashmiri red chillies , broken into pieces
1/2 cup blanched and finely chopped tomatoes
1/2 tsp ginger (adrak) paste
1/2 tsp garlic (lehsun) paste
1 tsp coriander (dhania) powder
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1 tbsp fresh cream
salt to taste
Method :
For paneer do pyaza
To make paneer do pyaza, heat the oil in a deep non-stick kadhai, add the cardamom, cinnamon, cloves and bayleaf and sauté on a medium flame for 30 seconds.Add the finely chopped onions and dry red chillies and sauté on a medium flame for 2 minutes.Add the tomatoes, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes, while stirring occasionally.Add the ginger paste, garlic paste, coriander powder, chilli powder, garam masala, fresh cream, salt and 1 tbsp of water, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute, while stirring occasionally.Add the boiled onion cubes and sauté on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes.Add the paneer, toss gently and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes ,while stirring occasionally.
Serve paneer do pyaza hot.
