Jowar and Sesame Khakhra

Preparation Time: 5 mins
Cooking Time: 1 hrs
Makes 20 khakhras
Ingredients
  • 2 cups jowar (white millet) flour
  • 1/2 cup sesame seeds (til)
  • 2 1/2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp ginger- green chilli paste
  • 1 tsp garlic (lehsun) paste
  • 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
Method
  1. Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and knead into a soft dough using enough hot water.
  2. Divide the dough into 20 equal portions.
  3. Place 1 portion of the dough in the centre of a pre-heated khakhra maker, close the lid and cook for 2 minutes or till brown from 1 side.
  4. Open the khakhra maker and cook on another side for more 2 minutes or till brown from other side as well.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to make 19 more khakhras.
  6. Cool and store in an air-tight container.
