Masoor Dal Soup

Ingredients
  • Split red lentil (masoor dal),soaked 1 cup
  • Onion ,roughly chopped 1 medium
  • Garlic,chopped 2 cloves
  • Black pepper powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Tomatoes,roughly chopped 2 large
  • Lemon juice 2 teaspoons
Method
  1. Heat a pressure cooker, add onion and garlic and roast for 2 minutes. 
  2. Drain and add the split red lentils, 2 cups water, black pepper powder, red chilli powder, salt and mix.
  3. Add tomatoes, cover and cook under pressure till 2-3 whistles are given out.
  4. Cool and put into a mixer jar and grind till smooth. 
  5. Pour back into the cooker, add lemon juice and mix and bring it to a boil. 
  6. Pour into bowls and serve.
