Mustard Rice

Servings :Makes 4 servings

Ingredients :

1 cup cooked rice

To Be Blended Into A Powder
1 tbsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
4 to 5 whole dry kashmiri red chillies
1/2 tbsp roasted chana dal (daria)
2 tbsp grated coconut
1 tbsp tamarind (imli) pulp
3 tbsp roasted peanuts

For The Tempering
2 tsp oil
2 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
1 tsp urad dal (split black lentils)
2 whole dry kashmiri red chillies
5 to 6 curry leaves (kadi patta)

Method :

Heat the oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds, urad dal, red chillies.When the seeds crackle, add the curry leaves and saute for 20 seconds.Add the ground paste and saute for few seconds.Add the cooked rice and saute for 5 minutes.Serve hot.
