Steamed Paneer Dumplings

Preparation Time: 20 mins
Cooking Time: 7 mins
Makes 8 dumplings
Ingredients
For The Spicy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tsp red chilli paste
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
For The Paneer Dumplings
  • 1/2 cup grated low-fat paneer (cottage cheese)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped and boiled mixed vegetables (carrots , green peas and
  • french beans)
  • 1 tbsp chopped dill leaves
  • 2 tsp semolina (rava)
  • 2 tsp quick cooking rolled oats
  • 2 tsp finely chopped green chillies
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp powdered sugar
  • salt to taste
Other Ingredients
  • 8 thick carrot sticks , 75 mm (3”) long
Method
For the spicy sauce
  1. Combine all the ingredients in a broad non-stick pan and mix well.
  2. Bring to boil, while stirring continuously and keep aside to cool.
For the paneer dumplings
  1. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and roll out each portion into small round balls.
  2. Steam the balls in a steamer for 5 to 7 minutes.
  3. Cool slightly, pierce each dumpling on a carrot stick and serve immediately with the spicy sauce
